Pettenon Cosmetics S.p.A. S.B., a global leader in professional haircare, proudly presents its fourth Sustainability Report, reaffirming the central role of ESG strategy in the Group’s growth model.
The new Sustainability Report highlights concrete results across environmental, social, and governance areas, showcasing an industrial approach that systematically integrates responsibility and innovation.
“For us, sustainability is not one of many possible directions — it is the direction,” said Luigi Ambrosini, CEO of Pettenon Cosmetics. “It means making every process a gesture of responsibility toward the future, and every product an opportunity to generate positive impact. Being ambassadors of Made in Italy today means precisely this: bringing to the world a beauty that creates value, leaves a mark, and inspires change.”
In 2024, Pettenon Cosmetics achieved a 21% reduction in total water consumption within just six months, thanks to the implementation of an advanced cooling water recovery system now fully integrated into production processes. This result is particularly significant in the cosmetics sector, where water is a vital resource in both product formulation and manufacturing processes, and its sustainable management is a key challenge for the entire industry.
On the materials front, the use of recycled plastic increased by 20% compared to 2023, preventing 233,000 kilograms of virgin plastic from entering the supply chain. This achievement was supported by technological enhancements in the in-house blow-molding, screen-printing, and packaging departments — a tangible example of circular economy innovation. Obsolete bottles are now recovered and reintegrated into the production cycle, raising the share of recycled plastic in internally produced packaging from 7.7% to 10.2%.
In terms of energy transition, the company’s electricity needs are now fully met by renewable sources, and both the San Martino di Lupari headquarters and the Cartigliano production site have reached carbon neutrality, with 336,000 kg of CO₂ offset. The new photovoltaic plant — built on a parking area donated to the local community — now supplies 25% of the company’s energy needs, boosting solar energy production by 82% compared to 2023.
Supply chain responsibility is another cornerstone of Pettenon Cosmetics’ sustainable approach, deeply rooted in Made in Italy values. The company’s model emphasizes quality, proximity, and traceability, with 88% of procurement sourced from Italian suppliers — supporting national manufacturing excellence while reducing the environmental footprint associated with logistics.
In 2024, Pettenon Cosmetics allocated over €344,000 to high-impact social projects, collaborating with 20 organizations focused on health, research, and inclusion, including Fondazione Umberto Veronesi and Progetto Quid. The company also launched VolontariAmo, its first paid corporate volunteering program, designed to recognize and support employees’ contributions beyond the workplace.
At the same time, Pettenon continues to advance its commitment to inclusion and equal opportunity. Since 2022, the company has adhered to the United Nations’ Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), reinforcing its dedication to building an equitable and inclusive corporate culture. Today, women represent 60% of the workforce, with more than half holding leadership roles. The company’s People First approach is also reflected in its strong investment in professional development, with over 9,000 hours of training delivered in 2024 — averaging 18 hours per employee.
Through these achievements, Pettenon Cosmetics confirms its leadership in the professional haircare sector, demonstrating how an integrated and innovative sustainability strategy can generate real value for people, the environment, and local communities. By continuing to place responsibility, innovation, and Made in Italy quality at the core of its actions — and with a forward-looking vision supported by an ambitious decarbonization plan and structured environmental roadmap — the Group reaffirms its commitment to paving a clear path toward a more sustainable and inclusive future.
A vision of beauty that goes beyond aesthetics — a beauty that creates meaningful, lasting impact in the world.
